You may be visiting this site because you are, or think you might be, experiencing domestic violence. Most domestic violence is directed at women, but men can be abused too, in both heterosexual and gay relationships. It is important to realise that you are not alone. Refuge – and many other organisations – are here to help you.

At Refuge, we believe that everybody has the right to a life free from violence. Our professional staff are highly trained to work with everyone experiencing domestic abuse, including heterosexual, gay, bisexual and transgender men. No-one deserves to be abused by the person they love. Everyone has the right to be respected and live in safety. It is important to remember that you are not alone, the abuse is not your fault and there are people who can help you. Refuge runs a number of outreach and independent advocacy services for male victims of domestic violence across the country.

You may also be visiting this site because you think you may be an abuser. It takes strength to admit that you are abusing your partner. If you really want to change, you can.
