Our befriending and Advocacy Service is mainly aimed to support those with mental health issues and as result are suffering from isolation.
With both befriending and advocacy each individual client is assigned a befriender, who provides friendly conversation and companionship on a regular basis. Befriending provides our clients with a link to the outside world and often acts as a gateway for other services and valuable support.
The volunteers under this scheme work with clients who need support in accessing health and/or social care services for a period of time. They visit and meet them on a regular basis, befriend them and provide advocacy support whilst liaising with health care providers and statutory organisations.
