The Good Neighbour Scheme for Mill Hill and Burnt Oak

Organisation Contact Details
Aims & Activities
Supporting elderly/older people who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress. We aim to reduce the isolation and loneliness suffered by many older people with a range of services that also include preventative health care. The services are: 3 weekly lunch clubs in Mill Hill and Burnt Oak; befriending; low cost chiropody clinics; advice and support; outings and trips, social events such as bingo afternoons; sign posting; garden clearance to make them safe to enjoy; transport to surgeries and hospitals.

Without volunteers, we would not be able to offer the variety of services which we provide. Volunteers provide help at the Lunch Clubs, drive people to local hospitals, GPs or dentists, visit people in their homes, do their shopping, help in the GNS office, and a variety of other neighbourly tasks.

Drivers are offered a mileage allowance. Guidance, support and training are available. An up-to-date DBS check will be required
